When you feel blah – Time Management 3 of 5 – Good Health in a Nutshell
When you feel “blah”. What do I mean by blah?
Well, I don’t know what it is for you. For me it’s “ahhh I’ve got so many things to do and I can’t decide what to do so I’m gonna read my book” and I’m not saying that’s totally a bad thing, but if I get to the end of the day and I haven’t actually achieved anything then it doesn’t help my “blah-feeling” go away.
I’m particularly good at going out for a walk because that’s something I love and that is a very good way of slipping yourself out of just not feeling up to other things. It’s a way of keeping your body moving which helps stimulate your brain.
Look, we are one whole organism here and anything we do to one part affects the other which is why when some people turn in to food if they’re feeling blah or “well I’ll just have a chocolate biscuit” or a glass of wine or something stronger it’s important that you have the mechanisms for what helps you.
I can’t dictate and I don’t want to dictate. I guess what I’m saying is that if you are subject to feeling blah on a regular basis that you find what ways work for you and maybe have a big list on the wall that has a list of go for a walk, smile at the sunshine, ring a friend, take some cookies around to a neighbor, mow the lawns, chop down a tree… Whatever it is for you, have that list of what to do when I don’t know what to do.
